New Product Announcements -- FPC Company members

(Aug 27, 2010) Ocean Optics is broadening the range of applications for its field-portable spectrometers. The SteadiQ provides a temperature controlled atmosphere, helping to stabilize temperature effects and eliminate temperature drift in inclement conditions or extreme temperatures from -20C to 50°C. To learn more about the SteadiQ, and the company’s full range of compact spectrometers, visit www.OceanOptics.com, phone +1 727-733-2447, or e-mail info@oceanoptics.com.

(Sept. 9, 2010) Analog Modules announces the release of its Model 762 OEM programmable seed laser diode drivers (pump laser diode drivers) These laser diode drivers are ideal for driving 14-pin butterfly packaged laser diode modules for use in CW or Pulsed fiber MOPA systems. Applications include materials processing, LIDAR systems for remote sensing, laser communication and rangefinding. For detailed specifications, operating notes, outline drawings and optical output waveforms on the Model 762, visit our website at www.analogmodules.com/products/laser-diode.php to view the product data sheet. You may also contact AMI to discuss the specifics of your application at sales@analogmodules.com or phone 407-339-4355.

(Oct 13, 2010) – Ocean Optics (www.OceanOptics.com), has expanded the capabilities of its small-footprint near-infrared spectrometers with the introduction of NIRQuest512-2.5. A high-resolution device with response from 900-2500 nm, NIRQuest512-2.5 is well suited to laser characterization and applications requiring longer integration times.

   FPC Member Awards

(Sept. 23, 2010) Analog Modules, Inc. (“AMI”) received the William C. Schwartz Industry Innovation Award representing Seminole County from the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (“EDC”). Named in honor of the late William (“Bill”) C. Schwartz – an avid community leader, business pioneer, FPC founder, and innovator within the field of optics and photonics – this program recognizes local companies for innovative practices, products and ideas. It is fitting that AMI received this award as AMI is a 1979 spin-off from Bill Schwartz’s company, International Laser Systems. Ian Crawford, President of AMI and Tim Ayres, V.P. Laser Electronics Division accepted the award on behalf of AMI.
